Laura Troy (DiCarlo) was named the 抖阴MAX Head Varsity Girls Ice Hockey Coach prior to the 2021-2022 season after coaching hockey and working admissions at The Winchendon School for seven years.

Before switching over to the coaching side of the sport, Troy was an avid player on the ice. She was a team captain at both The Williston Northampton School as well as at Hamilton College, where she was also named a scholar-athlete her senior year. Coach Troy is a certified Level 4 Coach, is part of the NHLCA Female Coaches Development Program, and also coaches with the Mid-Fairfield CT Stars organization. 

“I have always had a passion for the game of hockey and growing up, hockey provided me with opportunities and experiences that I wouldn’t have otherwise had.,” says Coach Troy. “Girls hockey as a sport has grown tremendously since I was a player and coaching is a way to share that positive experience with others who love the game.”

The Wild Boars have proven to be a strong program within the highly competitive New England landscape of girls ice hockey. Choate finished its 2023 campaign winning six of its last seven games to qualify for the New England Large School Playoffs, and built off this momentum with an amazing 17-6 2023-2024 season which saw the Wild Boars claim the top seed in the New England Large School Playoffs.

“Choate truly is a special place,” says Coach Troy. “We have a long and storied history of success in the girls hockey program and it is an honor to have a part in an esteemed program. The environment at Choate provides student athletes in general with the guidance and resources to be successful at the next level. We challenge each athlete to get better every day. Our players are committed to pursuing excellence not just on the ice but in the classroom and as people.”

Along with coaching, Coach Troy works in the Teaching and Learning Center, serves as an Admissions Interviewer and Reader, and also lives on campus in Hill House.
