Drew Dawson serves as adjunct faculty and head basketball coach at 抖阴MAX. One of the more successful prep programs over the last decade, Choate is one of only three Class A schools to have won multiple New England Prep School championships (2018, 2011) in this time while also capturing numerous Founders League titles.
Nominated twice as NEPSAC Class A Coach of the Year, Coach Dawson's Choate teams won the 2018 New England Prep School Class A championship and 2019 Founders League title. Dawson's teams are also responsible for posting the best winning percentage in school history (22-5), and nearly a dozen players have ended up earning All-NEPSAC recognition. Coach Dawson has seen many alums go on to compete in college at the Division I, II and III levels, including programs in the ACC, Big East, MAAC, Ivy League, Patriot League, and NESCAC, among others.
Prior to Choate, Coach Dawson spent a decade coaching both at the NCAA Division I level and overseas. A former Division I point guard and member of the Lafayette College team that won the 1999 Patriot League Tournament championship and appeared in the 2000 NCAA Tournament, Drew was the first former player under three-time Patriot League Coach of the Year, Fran O'Hanlon, to join him on the sidelines at Lafayette as an assistant coach.
Drew was instrumental in recruiting and assembling the Lafayette College teams that made consecutive Patriot League Tournament championship game appearances in 2010 and 2011 before moving on to the University of Hartford. During the 2011-2012 college basketball season, Dawson was tabbed an AEC Division I Top 5 Assistant Coach by then Fox Sports Insider, Jeff Goodman, for his efforts as an associate coach at the University of Hartford.
Outside of Choate: Drew has professional experience in the areas of entrepreneurship and sports management. He is currently co-founder and managing member of 3x360 Sports, an Athlete Innovation property and leading events and brand activation platform dedicated exclusively to the growth of FIBA 3x3 basketball. In 2020, 3x360 Sports became a national licensee of the iconic Hoop It Up tour, which is owned and back by NBA legend and Boston Celtics great, Kevin Garnett. Coach Dawson has been a featured speaker in the areas of coaching, sports management and entrepreneurship for organizations, such as, Microsoft CT Software Developers Startup Group, England's Northants School of Sport, HSBC Bank New York, Sport Dream Academy and Basketball Ireland, and has contributed to numerous publications, most notably, Fox Sports Digital affiliate, College Chalktalk, which has since rebranded in a partnership with the Atlantic 10 Conference.
He is also the founding coach and board member of the Project Triple Threat (PTT) basketball club of Connecticut. Drew and his wife, Meredith, are the proud parents of two sons, Liam (2) and Owen (1).
